Working with our partners, COMplus produces a variety of high impact multi media products. Recent products include:
Climate Thinkers is a stylish new series, made for international distribution including global networks such as BBC World News. The 18 editorially-independent one-minute films tap into the minds of the world's leading climate change scientists and policy makers, as well as everyday people on the frontline of global warming.
Climate Thinkers was broadcast on BBC World News over an eight day period with seven transmissions a day during December 2009 in Asia Pacific; South Asia; Europe; Latin America; Middle East; USA / N. America.
With funding from COMplus, the series had addition distribution to 12 African partners resulting in broadcasts on five national African tv stations to date – Uganda; Gambia; Malawi; Sierra Leone; Ghana – with multiple transmissions over the holiday period in Malawi and Sierra Leone. Broadcasts are still due to take place by Doordarshan (Indian public television), In Mexico through the Mexican State Educational Television and in Venezuela through La Simon tv.
Broadcast negotiations continue for outputs in Namibia and Tanzania various Middle East Broadcasters, India; Pakistan; Nepal and Korea. Screenings have also taken place through streaming on the WWF International website and IUCN website as well as UNEP; UN-REDD, UK DFID YouTube channel and tve YouTube channel, Online promotion on tve 's Facebook and Twitter and audience screenings at Copenhagen Klima Forum and Earthwatch event in India.
A TVEAP film which highlights climate vulnerability of 'frontline' states
23 October 2009 - Among the first human habitats to be impacted by climate change will be small, low-lying island states. TVE Asia Pacific's latest film highlights the plight of the Maldives, one of the world's most vulnerable countries to sea level rise including a key interview with the President of the Maldives.
